I met Emily while attending the Audrey Rose Workshop last month and instantly these two mamas clicked! That’s what I think is so amazing about Motherhood. No matter how many children you have or how old they are, there is a unique bond that I think all moms share. We’ve mostly likely shared similar experiences, successes and failures, joyful times and sorrowful ones but above all, our hearts are filled with an immeasureable amount of love. As we were driving over to the Historic Post Office for the styled shoot, Emily and I chatted away talking about our babies, our hubbies and how to balance our businesses. With so much in common, it really was refreshing to have someone so relatable to talk to!
So fast forward about a month and I had come across a private piece of farm land called New Earth Farm, located in Virginia Beach. I called up the farm owner and asked for permission to do a mini shoot on the property. He was so sweet and said I was welcome. Being a self-taught photographer I am always looking to practice and try out new settings but of course I needed a subject (or 3) to practice with! I knew just the person to ask! Emily’s husband was traveling for work but she so graciously agreed to get the babies and herself dolled up and meet me one evening for a “Golden Hour” mini shoot. The pictures speak for themselves when I tell you that she is one beautiful mother and she has the sweetest, happiest and most darling babies. I’m thankful for new friendships and beautiful light!
