I definitely got a funny reaction when I called Adventure Farm & Vineyard asking if I could host my daughter’s 1st birthday party there. I can see how a baby’s birthday party and a vineyard just don’t exactly go hand-in-hand but I quickly assured them that she would literally be the only baby there! Well when you’re the first and only of your friends to start a family, it was fair game to plan a party wherever…even at a vineyard, right?!
On a beautiful and sunny (Hallelujah!) summer afternoon, we gathered together with our families and friends to celebrate our Addison Shay. I could sit here all day and write about my sweet girl and how this past year has been the greatest year of my life, but quite honestly, that would just get me all emotional again. I’ve cried so much this past weekend. All happy tears, of course. For those of you who have been following me along on Instagram, it’s no secret how much I am obsessed with my baby girl. She is the funniest little human my husband and I have ever known. Her smile melts our hearts and her little personality brings us so much joy and happiness.
Although I am sad this year of “firsts” is over, there is still a lifetime of “firsts” yet to be experienced with her. When Addison was just born, we heard from so many people to “enjoy this time while it lasts” or “don’t blink”. Well, I have to tell you, that yes the time has flown by; however, it only has gotten better and better. This walking, talking, smart little girl is more fun than ever and we are so excited to continue watching her grow and learn even more during this next year.
I want to say thank you to everyone who helped make Addison’s first birthday so special! I hope you enjoy seeing some sneak peeks from the party! Adventure Farm, your wines were amazing! Thank you for being such gracious hosts.
