I couldn’t have imaged a more quintessential Charlottesville wedding this past weekend. Catherine and Josh said, “I do” at one of the most beautiful and historic country clubs in the area. Farmington is known for it’s southern hospitality, rich traditions, and stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It was the perfect venue for this intimate celebration. Surrounded by 20 of their closest family and friends, Catherine and Josh were wed at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. It was a private ceremony that although wasn’t photographed, it was beautiful to witness. Following the ceremony, guests arrived at Farmington to enjoy cocktail hour as the sun set, followed by an exquisite three-course meal in what is known to be one of the most beautiful rooms in Charlottesville, the Jefferson Room.
Despite not having a large guest list, or the accompaniment of bridesmaids and groomsmen, the simplicity of this wedding is what truly made it so special. Catherine and Josh currently reside in California so we did not have the opportunity for an engagement session. Although it was my first time meeting them on their wedding day, I got to spend time individually with both Catherine and Josh prior to the ceremony. They were both so calm and relaxed. Catherine radiated such beauty and grace and Josh was so composed and eager to see his bride. Hearing their vows and seeing the way they looked at one another during portraits, you could feel the love between them. I am so grateful to have been a part of the celebration and excited to share some of my favorite moments from the day. Congratulations again, Mr. and Mrs. Sheline!
