Elise and Kyle’s wedding couldn’t have gone more perfect. Well when it’s been a day 8 years in the making, I wouldn’t imagine anything less than perfection. They started dating in high school and kept their relationship going strong despite attending different universities. Elise attended Radford, while Kyle was at Virginia Tech. After so many years of dating, it was only fitting Kyle asked Elise to marry him with a larger-than-life proposal! He had a slideshow of pictures displayed up on the jumbo-tron at Lane Stadium!!
On April 27th, these two said, “I do” at Kyle’s family church, St. Stephen, Martyr, surrounded by close family and friends. Since Kyle and Elise elected not to do a first look, it was truly a beautiful moment watching Elise walk down the aisle and seeing her groom for the first time. I’ll admit, my eyes definitely got teary behind my camera!!
Leading up to their wedding day, we were anxiously watching the weather forecast as there was a 90% chance of scattered rain throughout the day. However, the rain completely held off until the reception! It ended up being a quick drizzle and that was it for the evening. How lucky were we?? Rain or shine, it would have been beautiful either way but I am so grateful for all the lovely outdoor portraits we were able to do! Following the ceremony, guests arrived at the gorgeous Lesner Inn for a sunset cocktail hour and reception. Let me tell you, these people were ready to parrrtaaay! The plan was to do toasts after Elise and Kyle were done making their rounds during dinner to say hello to all their guests. While standing near the DJ, I heard multiple song requests from guests who were ready to start dancing! The couple decided to bump toasts back until later in the evening and within seconds, the dance floor was PACKED! It was such a fun evening full of wonderful food, awesome music and dancing and the happiest bride and groom.
I have known Elise since our elementary school days at St. Gregory the Great and remember playing field hockey together at Bishop Sullivan. She has truly grown into such a beautiful woman inside and out. It’s so clear to see what a special couple Kyle and Elise are and what a testament their love is for one another just by the company that they keep. They each had the sweetest, funniest and most supportive bridesmaids and groomsmen who all made the day even more special.
My heart is always so full at the end of a wedding day. I am humbled to be thanked by my couples and their families when it’s truly me who is thankful to have been there to document such a momentous occasion! I am beyond excited to share highlights from this beautiful day!
