Wow, where do I even begin with this one?! Kelsey and Michael planned the most spectacular October wedding in the mountains of Lexington, Virginia. Irvine Estate has some of the most breathtaking views and their overcast wedding day weather couldn’t have enhanced those views any better! Everything about their day was picture perfect from the color pallet, to the florals and the custom signs. So much thoughtful planning and preparation went into making this such an incredible day for family and guests to help celebrate this amazing couple.
I believe everyone needs a Kelsey in their life. Someone who is caring, compassionate, outgoing and charismatic, and lights up any room she walks into. She’s kind of the girl who’s going to drop everything at a given moment to help a friend, and it’s no surprise why Michael fell hard for such a beautiful soul! These two definitely were swept up in the emotions of the day and it was clear to see how special they are to one another.
There were several little moments throughout the day that really stood out to me that just made their day extra special. I especially loved that their flower girls and ring bearer were their 90+ year old grandparents. They were absolutely adorable and I thought it was such a sweet and fun way to incorporate their beloved grandparents into their ceremony!
Kelsey also found several ways to honor someone very special. Kelsey’s brother, Chucky, passed away last December so to keep his memory close on their wedding day, Kelsey had a handkerchief with his saying, “Love you bunches” stitched onto it. On the inner liner of her dress, she also had a piece of her late grandfather’s shirt cut into a heart with Chucky’s saying stitched on it as well. Kelsey gave a special toast for him featuring Mountain Dew (her her brother’s favorite drink) in lieu of champagne. His presence was certainly felt throughout the day.
Kelsey and Michael, you are amazing individuals but together you are a force. I cannot wait to see what God has in store for you both and the incredible adventures that lay ahead!
