The first word that comes to mind when thinking of Taylor and Kohl’s wedding last Saturday is, “family”. Maybe it’s the fact that this beautiful celebration took place on Kohly’s uncle’s farm, or maybe it’s the fact that family portraits were of utmost importance for these two, or perhaps it’s simply the fact that related or unrelated, every single guest there felt exactly like family. Well when a wedding is all about family, you can expect a lot of heart went into planning this special day. Upon arriving at the farm, I was greeted by a house full of gorgeous girls who instantly welcomed me in. Taylor was halfway through her hair and makeup and already looked like an absolute Barbie doll. In fact, I nicknamed her “Country Barbie” once I saw her slip into her brown leather cowgirl boots. Talk about a bride with style!!
There was no shortage of tears throughout the day and it all began with Taylor’s getting ready pictures. She gifted her mother and soon-to-be mother-in-law with necklaces and a sweet heartfelt letter. Cue the tears! Well the waterworks didn’t stop there because when she revealed to both her bridesmaids and her flower girl, even I was getting misty eyed behind my camera. Taylor has that affect on people. She has such a kind and tender heart and a beauty that radiates from within. The same can be said about Kohly. He is so patient, calm, cool and collected, and a true gentleman. I honestly can’t tell you how many times I heard throughout the day just how special this couple is. In their family and friends’ toasts, as they greeted guests during dinner, and in conversations on the dance floor, there were so many kind words said about Taylor and Kohly.
I think due to the fact that every part of the day took place on the family farm, the day really didn’t seem to fly by as fast as it does on most wedding days. Since we didn’t have to worry about transportation and getting from one place to the other, Taylor and Kohly along with their wedding party had plenty of time to relax and just enjoy the day. That also allowed me to really get to know everyone and genuinely made me sad at the end of the night to have to say goodbye!
Taylor and Kohly, I am so excited for you both to begin this next chapter of your lives and truly feel so honored to have played a small role in your special day. I hope you enjoy these sneak peeks! Ps this may or may not be the longest blog to date! Enjoy!
